How to get to Tilbury

The Columbus will sail from the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury in Essex which is situated on the River Thames just 25 miles east of London and 7 miles from junction 31 of the M25.


Airport Transfers

Vegan Travel & CMV offer transportation to the pier and the airports (Stansted and London-Heathrow).

Travelling from the West: Leave the M25 at Junction 30 and follow the A13 eastbound (Tilbury and Southend). Take the A1089 (third exit) which is dual carriageway, to the ‘ASDA’ roundabout. Take the third exit off the roundabout towards the Port of Tilbury (Docks), continue past the Port of Tilbury Entrance, cross over the first mini roundabout and turn right at the second mini roundabout. The London Cruise Terminal will be seen immediately in front of you at this point, turn right at the mini roundabout and then immediately left into the Terminal area.

Travelling from the East: Follow the A13 towards the M25 and leave at the A1089 exit and continue as above.

Port Parking: Cruise & Maritime Voyages in conjunction with The Port of Tilbury are able to offer secure car parking facilities for our passengers. Places must be reserved and paid for in advance.

Car Parking Directions: Please follow the above instructions until you have taken the third exit off the roundabout towards the Port of Tilbury (Docks), please make your way into the far side lane marked (Docks) and take the entrance into the Port of Tilbury (Docks) here you will be required to go through the check-point barriers. Once you are through the barriers at the next junction turn right and the car park can be found on the right hand side.

On arrival at the car park your luggage will be taken from you by the porters and delivered directly to your cabin. If you require extra labels, these will be available at the car park.

Port Parking
The Port of Tilbury is able to offer secure car parking facilities to passengers. Places must be reserved through your tour operator or travel agent and paid for in advance.

Rail
There is a regular train service from London Fenchurch Street to Tilbury Town and the journey time is around 45 minutes. Tilbury Town Station is approximately 1 mile from the London Cruise Terminal. From the Railway Station:
There is a locally run bus service from Tilbury Town Station to the Tilbury/Gravesend Ferry Service which is adjacent to the London Cruise Terminal, details can obtained from www.ensignbus.com/route-99 or by telephone on 01708 865656. Please note this service does NOT operate on a Sunday. There is also a taxi office situated opposite the station or you can request a taxi on 01375 856888.

If you are coming from France on the Eurostar, then it would be easier to get off at Ebbsfleet International and either get a short taxi ride to Gravesend and the ferry across the Thames to Tilbury. The Eurostar crosses the Thames almost directly under Tilbury.
