As we sail through the Norwegian Fjords, enjoy everything the veganized MS Columbus has to offer.  At 63,786grt and with an overall length of nearly 250 metres, Columbus was purpose built for deep sea ocean cruising. She underwent an extensive refit in August 2015 and will be upgraded further in April 2017 before the start of her maiden CMV season.

Columbus has 775 passenger cabins including 64 deluxe balcony cabins and junior suites. Recognising the needs of single travellers, 150 cabins will be allocated for solos.
Bathrooms: Fine vegan toiletries will be supplied for your wellbeing!

Originally constructed in 1988, the impressive Columbus underwent a multimillion-dollar refurbishment in 2015 which transformed it into an elegant and contemporary cruise ship. From the stunning three-story atrium to the revamped wellness center, every part of this ship has been designed to provide you with an enormous floating home-away-from-home.

Take your pick from one of the 773 staterooms that include interior, deluxe balcony and ocean view cabins. All cabins are fitted with mod-cons including a widescreen LCD TV with movie channels, fridge, wardrobe, secure safe, WiFi and an en-suite bathroom. Premium bedding, plush pillows, and blackout blinds will all help to aid a dreamy night’s sleep and ensure that you wake up rejuvenated and ready for a fun-filled day ahead. For the most luxurious option choose the mini-suite, a 370 ft abode that comes complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, comfortable living area, desk space, pillow concierge and large private viewing balcony. The cleaning staff are on hand to refresh all cabin types on a daily basis.

Entertainment options are plentiful, and you’ll be hard pressed to fit all of the incredible leisure activities on offer into your stay. The heart of the ship is the three-story atrium known as the Village Square, which houses an impressive array of tax and duty-free shops, coffee bars and cocktail bars. This social hub is the perfect spot to mingle with guests and make new friends.

An unusual feature is the enormous seven-meter by four-meter outdoor big movie screen that is located on the ship’s top deck. It’s here you can kick-back on a deckchair and watch a movie under the stars. The deck below houses a large pool complex with several separate pools and a swim-up bar. A highlight is The Oasis, an adult-only outdoor retreat space which features a small pool that is surrounded by cushioned cabanas, hanging chairs and private seating areas. This child-free refuge provides an incredible spot for some much-needed R & R.

On the top deck, you’ll find The Dome, a huge indoor observation area with full-length glass windows and a full-service bar so that you can really soak up the scenery in style.

Beauty and Fitness

It’s easy to keep up to date with your workout regime while you’re floating along the sea at the new Aqua Health Spa Fitness Center. The state-of-the-art gym has ample free weights, mats and aerobic conditioning equipment. Helpful staff are on hand to explain how to use equipment, or to simply provide a little extra motivation and support.

Keen golfers can tee-off at the golf putting green, while sport’s enthusiasts will love the outdoor jogging track which offers a scenic spot for a gentle morning run as the sun rises over the ocean. There is also a large sport’s court area where you can partake in basketball, volleyball and tennis games. A separate purpose-built studio room is where you can ‘get your om on’ by taking one of the many yoga classes and workshops. If you’re seeking more of a workout for the mind than the body, the traditional deck games area may appeal. This secluded spot is where you can flex your mental muscles and try your hand at fun games such as deck chess, deck quoits and shuffleboard.

In need of a little pampering? Head to the Aqua Beauty Salon where highly-trained therapists provide exclusive spa treatments that will leave you looking and feeling your best. The full range of services include facials, manicures, pedicures, acupuncture, reflexology and aromatherapy massages. For the ultimate in indulgence, you can purchase a pass to the Thermal Rooms for unlimited access to the sauna, steam room, relaxation room, heated ceramic beds and tropical shower room.

If you’re travelling with children or teenagers, you can rest assured that there is plenty to keep them entertained as a fun kid’s zone centre provides complimentary activities for little ones of all ages. Interconnecting rooms are available, and bunk beds can also be booked on request.
