Groups are formed to embark on zodiac boats, which take you ashore.

Sustainability Aboard Ventus Australis

The protection and preservation of nature is a permanent preoccupation of the M/V Ventus Australis. She uses specialized processes to prevent damaging the beautiful spots of the region, such as the separation of oil waste and other contaminating fluids, which are later deposited at port; compacting and deposit of garbage at port; and a sewage and solid waste treatment plant.

Patagonia Dining Room

At the Patagonia Dining Room, the primary dining venue, you can opt for a full vegan breakfast, savour a leisurely lunch and enjoy a delightful multiple course dinner. It has the appearance of a contemporary restaurant, rather than a traditional cruise ship dining room. A colorful and airy space, with tables accommodating two to 10 people.

You may feel as if you’ve traveled to the ends of the earth, but the fare in the dining room is decidedly local. Vegetables and fruits come from around Santiago. At dinner, there’s one seating for all passengers, and dishes go beyond standard cruise fare.

Bars & Lounges

The Ventus Australis offers a choice of beautiful lounges and bars including the Darwin Lounge, Sky Lounge and Yamana Lounge. The spacious surroundings on board Ventus Australis mean there is always a quiet corner to relax.

Darwin Lounge

Darwin Lounge (Deck 5): The Darwin Lounge, on the upper deck, is the ship’s large, comfortable bar furnished with an array of cocktail tables and armchairs, along with large picture windows. It’s here you’ll enjoy an open bar of fine vegan beverages throughout your cruise.

Darwin Lounge is really the heart and soul of the ship. As well as the ship’s sole bar, it’s also where all the onboard lectures and documentary screenings take place. People gravitate here for pre- and post-dinner drinks, and it’s usually open until fairly late, depending on the day’s excursions.

The bar always has a selection of chips, cookies and olives on offer, and there is also a self-serve fridge with soft drinks and a fine Austral lager or ale.

Yamana & Sky Lounge

Yamana Lounge (Deck 3): The forward-facing Yamana Lounge is a nice meeting and observation lounge. There is no bar-service here.

Sky Lounge (Deck 4): This is where you’ll find coffee, tea, juice and pastries on offer from 6 a.m. for early risers, and is also where you’ll find self-service beverages throughout the day. There are plenty of chairs and windows to sit in and spot marine life. This is also where the lectures, instructions for shore excursions and subtitled movies are shown for non-English speakers.
